Parent Partnership
The parent’s role in the education of their children is of ultimate importance. Those fundamental social skills which are needed to function within the parameters of acceptable cultural norms should start and continue in the home by loving parents/caregivers. Basic educational concepts such as number, letter and color recognition should be mastered prior to entering Kindergarten. Continual parental support is paramount to the child’s success in school.
Parents who, whether or not, choose to set priorities to aid in their child’s learning processes will reap the fruits of their choices, one way or another. Dr. Lisa Hebert
We encourage parents to be involved with all of KLA’s activities. The partnership we form together to educate the children of KLA is vital to the success of the program and students. Our Homeschool Help program meets on campus two days Monday through Thursday and at the satellite campus, your home, the rest of the week. Since we have adopted BJUs Christian Classroom Online, students will have assignments to do at home with you on the days they are not on campus. These are not optional assignments, they are a part of their weekly studies. Parents are encouraged to engage with your child as they work on their home assignments.
My promise to you:
On the days your student is on campus, he can expect to have some one-on-one attention from me. On the days he is at home, I will be just a text away. If he needs help beyond what you can help him with, I will be available for a quick call or Google Meet to help! I will monitor your student’s progress and keep up with records and reports. I will plan their lessons, grade their work, give feedback, and administer diagnostic testing to prove their growth.
